We had been told that the babies would have a hard time with close contact because they weren't used to being held but Amy has been snuggly from the start. She was slow to warm up to us but didn't mind being held.
Amy was not happy at first. She cried as they handed her to me and she was not easily distracted. She came from a small orphanage (about 20 children) with many caregivers. She has had lots of attention and it was a hard first day for her.
Amy's orphange is in Zhijing which is 6 hours by bus to Changsha so she had a long day before we met her that afternoon. Three workers from the orphanage came with her.
Monday at 3:30 it was finally time to go to the Adoption office to meet Amy for the first time. Our agency provided us with a guide that took us everywhere helped with the paperwork and showed us where to eat. Our first guide was Linda and she was wonderful!
Dallin was the lucky one who got to skip 2 weeks of school and go with us. We flew 9 hours to Tokyo and then 5 more hours to Guangzhou China. We spent the night there and then the next morning flew the Changsha, Hunan Provice where we would get our Amy!
AFter mounds of paperwork and 3 1/2 years of waiting we are finally on our way to China!
